We enjoyed working with Gretchen. She was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and responsive. The itinerary she built for/with us was spot on and we felt it was one of our best trips ever. This was our third trip with AWR and we will continue to recommend AWR and utilize them too. Maybe Machu Picchu in 2019. Our favorite part of the trip was Patagonia Camp and the trekking (Fitz Roy in El Chalten; Frances Valley and Base of the Torres in Del Paine).

I would highly recommend Gretchen and AWR to my friends and others for their travel needs. Hiking in Torres Del Paine was an amazing experience. Food in some restaurants in Punta Arenas were surprisingly good, and Hotel Ilaia in Punta Arenas was lovely. Having dolphins swimming next to our boat on our way to Isla Magdalena was such a treat. We all loved Patagonia and are looking forward to go back someday (we all ate Calafate cream pie, local lore has that you must eat calafate to guarantee the return to Patagonia). Thanks again.

I recommend AWR quite frequently. For me Iguazu Falls was the highlight of the trip but everything was great. I think you do a perfect job.Probably one of the most important pieces for me is the transfers. I have done several trips now and the transfer agent always arrives on time and they are always quality people with quality vehicles. It is a real stress reducer. I look forward to going to the Lake District with AWR.

AWR could not have improved on our itinerary for us. It was what we asked for plus Gretchen’s suggestions and routing made it perfect for us!
Explora Atacama was terrific and the best food of our stay. All the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. The managers Juan and Maureen knocked themselves out trying to insure everyone had a fabulous experience.
Loved our hotel in El Chalten. Fabulous restaurant and right next door was a hostel owned by the same people and we went there for a terrific dinner also.
Highly recommend it! Liked our room- people were rock climbing right outside of our window!
Loved Patagonia Camp. Probably my favorite place we stayed. The yurts gorgeous, the common area of restaurant, bar and lounge area small and comfortable, companionable. Patagonia Camp had the special lamb barbecue two nights a week. I wish we had been there for both!!!! It was fabulous. I think Wednesdays and Sundays.
The hotel in Santiago was beautifully designed and decorated and very comfortable.
Really appreciated the advice on money. We were fine, never went near an ATM.
I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into this trip!

AWR rocks!!!!! [Our group’s] trip was “perfect”, other than a couple of things outside of [AWR’s] control. The entire trip was wonderful and amazing. [I] loved everything about the lodges, food, and excursions. Patagonia of course had an advantage with the amazing view. Easter Island had the best food although all of the food was great. In Atacama the hiking was a highlight. [We] also loved Antarctica XXI, Uncorked services, and Ilaia Hotel in Punta Arenas.
