Make a Difference has a project in the village of Himo near the Marangu Gate at the base of Kilimanjaro. Theresa Grant will be your guide for your stay and will introduce you to the orphanage and school they are supporting. For only $600/person/week, you will have room and board, transfers, and a donation to the project.

Free-A-Child is a project directed at reducing the risk of child trafficking for prostitution and the subsequent spread of HIV/AIDS and other STIs in Nepal.

Volunteers can take a 3 day trip to area near the Indian border of Nepal and learn how the girls in the area are learning to become self-sufficient and being educated in the topic of trafficking an other issues.

If you only have a day or two, we can arrange a visit to the Aldea Yanapay Alternative School in Cusco and/or the Rumira School in the Sacred Valley. In both cases, you can participate in games, singing, and dancing with the children, provide a meal, and visit their homes in the village.

If you have more time, we have a 12-day itinerary in which you visit the two school above plus 3 days visiting the village of Boca Amigo in the remote Peruvian rain forest. This trip also includes a visit to Machu Picchu, hiking and canoeing in the rain forest, and visits to the popular sites in Cusco and the Sacred Valley.

The Shalom Orphanage is located near the Highview Hotel in Karatu (between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater). It houses 33 children between the ages of 1 and 8. They also have an on-site school.

Volunteers will be asked to clean laundry, feed the children, and help in the school. Projects are available for 1 day, 1 week, or longer.
