Who needs a visa?

The "visa" is just a big stamp in your passport. Everyone needs a visa for Kenya except citizens of:

The Bahamas, Barbados, Botswana, Brunei Darussalam, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji Island, Gambia, Grenada, Grenadines, Ghana, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Maldives, Namibia, Naura, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, St. Lucia, St Vincent and the San Marino, Grenadines, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Vanuatu B, Uruguay, Uganda, Tuvalu, Trinidad & Tobago, Tonga, Tanzania, Swaziland, Singapore, Singapore, Seychelles, and Samoa.

How to get a visa?

A visa can be obtained before your trip or upon arrival at the airport. Both single and multiple entry visas are available. A single entry visa costs $50 U.S. dollars. A transit visa is $20. If you get your visa at the airport, you will need cash to pay for the visa.

Entry Requirements

  1. Valid Passport – to be submitted with the application.
  2. Duly completed visa application form (in duplicate in case of multiple journey visas). The form is appended here below
  3. Two passport size pictures (full face showing both ears). Computer generated pictures are unacceptable.
    1. $25.00 for Single Entry (Tourist/Business) Visa
    2. $25.00 for Transit Visa
    3. $50.00 MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA with one year validity INTO KENYA (USA, UK & CANADIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY)
  • Cash and Personal Checks are not acceptable - Cashiers Check or Money Order only. (payable to Kenya Embassy)
  • Certified self addressed stamped envelope for the return of your passport(s) i.e. Express Mail, Certified Mail or Priority Mail with delivery confirmation.
  • The envelope should have sufficient return postage.
  • Any application not meeting the above requirements will be considered INCOMPLETE and will not be acted upon.

VACCINATION CERTIFICATE

  • There are no mandatory immunizations required for US residents wishing to visit Kenya. However, travelers continuing to Tanzania will need a yellow fever certificate if they landed in Kenya (even if you did not leave the airport).
