Camping
These are adventure-oriented safaris where one enjoys nature, wildlife, culture, and scenery. The safaris are basic and NOT luxury. We carry the camping equipments with us on safari and set up the camps in designated areas within the national parks. Most of the campsites do not have any facilities. Some have latrines and cold showers, while others have none.
We provide a tent for 2 persons and foam pads to use. Everyone must bring along a sleeping bag for use during the safari. In the Masai Mara, there are big tents with small beds but in other National Parks / Reserves we use smaller tents with foam pads only. There will be a dining table and stools, but no dining tent. You will be given warm water for washing, but there are no showers.
During the camping safari, there is a cook who prepares the meals and helps to set up tents for the clients and also takes care of the camp when the clients and driver go for game drives. The food we provide is prepared at the campsite by our safari cook in the open. They use bottled water for washing vegetables and fruits for your safety.
You can rent a sleeping bag for $30/person for the entire safari.
NOTE: In the Masai Mara, we use permanent campsites (see below). At Lake Nakuru, there is no camping, so we use a simple guest house.
We also use some permanent campsites:
