Overview
This 12 day trek is one of the best treks in the Everest region. Much of the trek takes place at moderate to high altitudes, venturing through rich Buddhist villages, red birch and dwarf rhododendron forests.
A highlight of this trek is the walk to the sacred lakes of Gokyo including a steep climb to the top of Gokyo Ri to witness the most comprehensive and impressive views of the Himalayas. Gokyo Ri allows you to look down on the vast Ngozumpa Glacier and have outstanding views of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu, four of the world's ten highest peaks.
The return route to Namche Bazaar will be via the Sherpa villages of Phortse and the great Tengboche Monastery.

Pricing
2008 Prices
- 2-5 pax: USD 1300 per person for land only
- 6-9 pax: USD 1160 per person for land only
- 10 & above: USD 1085 per person for land only
- Single room supplement: USD 150 per person
- Local Payment (Ktm-Lukla-Ktm flight) : USD 220
Cost Includes:
- 4 nights twin sharing accomodation in tourist class hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu
- 13 nights twin sharing accomodation in simple lodges with breakfast during trek
- Sirdar during trek
- Necessary Sherpas during trek
- National Park Fees for Sagarmatha National Park
- Necessary porters during trek
- Porter and support staff insurance
- 4 nights in Hotel Manaslu in Kathmandu on twin sharing and B/B basis
- All internatinal and domestic arrival and departure transfers
- 1 full day sightseeing in Kathmandu with cultural guide and transfer.
- Trip leader will be provided for groups of four person and above.
Local Payment:
- Local payment includes the airfare (Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu), local transfers and park fees where applicable. Local payment must be made on the day of your arrival in Kathmandu cash or traveler's check.
- Budget US$ 12-15 per day for lunch and dinner in Kathmandu and on treks.

- Beverages and alcoholic drinks including bottled water
- Nepalese visa
- Costs incurred due to unforeseen circumstances like landslides, political unrest, cancellation of flights, flood, rain etc

- Excess baggage cost for domestic flight (baggage allowance is 15 kgs per person).
