Summary
It was a big weekend for travel agents in San Jose, California! First, the OSSN National Conference, then a combined Home Based Agent Show and Honeymoon & Romantic Getaways Show. A weekend full of amazing speakers, informative classes, and great networking. I was happy to trade the 6 inches of snow in the Denver area for the warm weather and wealth of information found in California!
First was the OSSN Conference with a full day of top-notch speakers on topics such at networking, travel insurance, tapping into the media, niche markets, and successful home-based agent stories. OSSN even hosted an evening at the Tech Museum and a showing of the "Incredible India" IMAX movie. See the conference schedule:
Next, we had two days of speakers, classes, and trade show. CLIA and The Travel Institute offered accredited modules on a variety of topics, there were talks on destination weddings and honeymoons (I was ready to head for Fiji!), information on host agencies, and a boatload of marketing ideas.
