This guided tour starts in Lima, traveling to Cusco, Sacred Valley, by train to Aguas Calientes, and shuttle bus to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Once at the Sanctuary the tour goes along a little-visited section of the Inca Trail of spectacular flagstonel through incredible landscapes and mountain scenery entering Machu Picchu the way the Incas did, through Inti Punku (the door of the sun), followed by a guided tour of the citadel. The tour ends in Cusco.
Itinerary: Day 1 Lima, 2-3 Cusco, 4 Sacred Valley, 5 Machu Picchu, 6 Cusco, 7 Lima / Departure.

Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Upon early arrival optional tours available to visit modern and colonial Lima. There are also many museums and private collections. Lunch and dinner on your own, overnight at hotel in Lima (3-star).

Transfer to the airport to board your one hour flight to Cusco, center of the Inca world. Meet and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the morning free to acclimatize to the altitude (3,400 m.a.s.l./11,400 ft.). An afternoon tour of the city and nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko and Pucapucara will educate you on the history of this astonishing town. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight at local hotel in Cusco (3-star).

Optional: Half-day river rafting on the Urubamba River or day trip to Maras and Moray.

Departing from Cusco, we will drive through Sacred Valley where we will spend a full day visiting Pisac market and ruins and, in the afternoon, Ollantaytambo village and ruins. Lunch included. Dinner on your own. Overnight at a local hotel in the Sacred Valley (3-star).

We transfer you from the hotel in the Sacred Valley to Ollanta train station in order to take the train that brings us to the town of Aguas Calientes, near Machu Picchu. Visit the local craft market and village churches or enjoy an optional visit to the hot springs baths. Dinner on your own. Overnight at a hotel in Aguas Calientes (3-star).
The whole day is dedicated to a guided tour of Machu Picchu Sanctuary, and extra time to explore these extraordinary Inca remains. The late afternoon train takes you back to Cusco, transfer to your hotel, lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight at local hotel in Cusco (3-star).

Transfer to airport for your ongoing flight to Lima or elsewhere and assistance with any connections anywhere in Peru.
