Our guide on Kili made the trip and exceeded our expectations in terms of camaraderie and guidance. The porters were all very polite and friendly.

AWR is fantastic! Mt. Meru had many animals around--I didn't expect to see so many animals on that mountain.

Reaching the top of Kilimanjaro is a great story in it self. We bawled when we got there! The marathon is a very neat experience running through the town of Moshi and then towards Kilimanjaro. The whole African experience was amazing. You'll never forget a trip like this. AWR delivered!

What a fantastic experience! I was amazed how much altitude could affect your body and mind. Thanks to my guide(s) I made it to the top. I wanted to quit at Stella Point but my guide knew that I could do it and gently prompted me, which I am forever grateful for. I would have been very disappointed if I came back without reaching the top.

The Rongai route was much better than I had expected. All my hiking buddies are envious of our Kili hike experience.

On the safari, our guide was a walking encyclopedia and told us about mating, eating, migration habits, etc. He would spell the animal names so we could add them to our photo library. It was unbelievable how he could find animals for us to view. Having seen the migration on TV, we were awed by seeing it in person.

We had a fantastic head guide! He is very experienced and enjoyable to be around. We learned a lot from traveling with him. Unfortunately, we had a couple of members that were sick along the way and our guide and assistant guides sensibly and patiently took every care so that we could make it to each next camp and eventually to our summit attempt. We are truly grateful for everyone's dedication.

All of the staff on the Kilimanjaro climb were fantastic. I felt truly cared for. I would not have made the summit without the support of our guides and the staff. I was concerned about the potential for altitude sickness; however, I felt our guides were very experienced and would recognize any problems and take action. They were very concerned about our health. We had wonderful conversations. They were knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. Because of the guides and other staff, it definitely was a trip of a lifetime for me. I miss them!

Our guides, porters and cooks on Kilimanjaro could not have been better. I have a friend who is considering this trip & I will recommend he book through your company. I will also recommend he specifically ask for the same guides we had. The trip exceeded my expectations!

Excellent trek up Kilimanjaro. Guides were great! Ascent was great, the guides joked (in Swahili) and sang, very upbeat, made the trip a little less tedious. Always felt I was looked after. Cook was great, cared how we felt about the food. The waiter was attentive and helpful. Mess tent was good, table settings were nice. We were the only group I know of that were welcomed into the trekking camps by singing porters (Jambo Jambo); it was a nice touch.

Safari accommodations were excellent, and food at the hotels/camps was good--plenty of it. Our guide was an excellent birder and good conversationalist. I will not hesitate to recommend AWR to anyone.

The Kilimanjaro hike was amazing. The seven day hike was perfect for our fitness level, and though summit day was very difficult due to weather, we were ecstatic that all 4 members of our group were able to summit. Our guide was extremely friendly and spoke good English, so he kept us updated and feeling secure. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and helpful, and made the trip memorable.

As for the safari, I was very impressed with our guide’s knowledge of the wildlife, geology, history, etc. I was merely expecting a driver, and we were very surprised to have a professor that loves his work. Our guide was extremely accommodating, and did everything in his power to make our safari a memorable adventure.

The ability to pre-plan and pre-pay through Adventures Within Reach was a critical factor in the success of the adventure. The local outfitter was a superbly structured local representative. Keys Hotel was an excellent "cap stone" to provide sustaining infrastructure for the trip. The unique Masai village tour was exceptional.

It was fabulous! Our guide was wonderful - he really knew what he was doing and he was always full of interesting information about the mountain, plants, animals, etc. I couldn't have made it to the top without him and our assistant guide! The food was also excellent and full of protein, even for me the vegetarian. The porters were great too. Overall, an AMAZING trip.

A guy in my group had a birthday on the first day of our trek, so the guide and all of the porters surprised him by coming into our food tent and singing a bunch of fun birthday songs. Then they presented him with his very own birthday plant in a make-shift vase.

The trip was very good, more than expected. Our guide (Godwin) had very good english as well as knowledge of the animals, nature and culture. He was very friendly and helpful, was a good driver and showed a lot of respect for the animals (turning the engine of, driving slowly pass animals, not chasing the animals like some other cars etc)

Coming from a busy world, when we arrived at the gates of the Kilimanjaro National Park, the world relaxed for us. The beautiful daily walk and "Pole Pole"...there really is no hurry. The changing scenery, vegetation and wildlife is a constant joy.

The Tanzanians are great people; they really connected well with our group and every morning we all sang and danced the Kilimanjaro song. In fact all the other parties doing the same walk got to know our group as "the singing porters" and could find us for a morning hello. We topped off a great week by getting to the summit as the sun came up. We loved our trip!

We were very pleased with AWR. All correspondence with you went very smooth and professional. Very detailed - your info covered it all. I will definitely recommend you as a good and well-organized tour operator on the mountain forum www.summitpost.org

I was thrilled over the spectacular camping site up at Barafu hut. What a place to put your tent! On the safari, all the encounters with the animals were outstanding; in particular, our meeting with two cheetahs early in the morning.
