Safari Lodges: Mid-Range

The Wildlife Lodges have the best locations at the most reasonable prices. They are clean but otherwise very simple.

Ndutu is an area in the western part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (southwest of the Serengeti). It is best March-June for the migration.

The Tarangire Safari Lodge has permanent tents as well as indoor bomas.

Seronera Wildlife Lodge (Serengeti)

Seronera Wildlife Lodge Seronera Wildlife Lodge is ideally located at the heart of the Serengeti plains surrounded by wildlife. The lodge is built on a "kopjes" (rock outcroppings) and offers 75 guest rooms. It also features a restaurant and a very pleasant bar overlooking the incomparable Serengeti plains.

Lobo Wildlife Lodge (N. Serengeti)

Lobo LodgeThe Lobo Wildlife Lodge is a dramatically beautiful lodge built entirely from wood and glass amid the rough and ragged contours of an enormous rocky headland in the northern part of Serengeti National Park, and blends perfectly with its surroundings. From the swimming pool, which is carved out of the solid rock, to the bar, the lodge offers a breath-taking view over the plains and bushy savanna crossed by herds of buffalo and elephant. The location is great for the migration in October and November.

Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge (Ngorongo)

Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge is one of the few hotels perched on the rim of the incomparable Ngorongoro Crater. It is built mainly from natural stone and local wood and timber. The panoramic windows encompass a superb view of the crater teeming with wildlife.

Ndutu Safari Lodge (W. Ngorongoro)

Ndutu Safari Lodge is the only lodge located in the northwest area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It is ideal for seeing the migration December-May, but it is away from the crowds.

The Lodge consists of 34 stone cottages nestled unobtrusively under a canopy of giant acacias overlooking Lake Ndutu. All rooms have en-suite facilities and its own verandah. The cottages are made from local materials and offer comfortable, tasteful accommodation.

Tarangire Safari Lodge (Tarangire)

Built on top of a high bluff with a breathtaking panorama.
The luxury twin tents combine the authentic safari atmosphere
of "nights under canvas", with more modern comforts of
electric lights and en-suite bathrooms with hot water.

All 35 tents have been recently refurbished. The thick canvas
walls can be rolled up to expose netted windows.  These allow
you to enjoy the cool breeze and experience the bush all around you, without being exposed to the elements.
There's also a swimming pool with a water slide.
