Overview

Four days of trekking with Maasai guides in and out native villages and campsites. It includes the hiking an active volcano, Ngorongoro Crater and a tour of Lake Natron. This trek is very remote and all drinking water must be carried in.

Start Dates:

7 days / 6 nights

                           
Day 1: Depart from Moshi in the morning and drive to Ngorongoro Crater with lunch box en-route.  Eat dinner and spend the night at the Simba camp site.
Day 2: After breakfast drive across Ngorongoro Crater to Nainokanoka village, load the Maasai donkeys with equipment and commence the trek towards Embulmbul village. Dinner and over night at Embulmbul camp site.
Day 3: We begin the trek from Embulmbul village towards the Empakai Crater (2300m). After lunch we hike down the crater to observe the flamingo colony and then return to the rim for dinner and over night.
Day 4: After breakfast we leave for Naiyobi village with lunch box en-route.   We arrive at Acacia camp site for dinner and over night.
Day 5: Early Morning climb to Ol Doinyo Lengai (5 hrs) and then descend for dinner and over night at the Lake Natron camp site.
Day 6: After breakfast we take a tour around Lake Natron, dinner and over night at the camp.
Day 7: Early morning breakfast and drive back to Moshi.
